In the Spring of 2018, I attended a session hosted by author Judy Cornish at the American Society of Aging conference. Judy is a dementia expert. At that point, she had recently published a book on dementia, ran a home care business specifically catering to people living with dementia, and was working on a second book on the topic.
Judy’s explanation of how people with dementia lose rationale thought, but retain intuitive thought - the skills we use to enjoy music, beauty, and emotion -was a revelation to me. After watching her present, I introduced myself and suggested creating a video to share that insight with others.
